  I have been going to the Muffler Man, Prahran for 7 years now (it is now 2016) and I have always received excellent service every time. The guys, particularly Trevor are very helpful, they fix my car without any fuss. They source the products quickly and each time my car runs like a dream. Just this week I was hearing a very loud clanking noise under my car (sounded like the left wheel was going to fall off) - I took it to Trevor. He was about to close, but said let's have a look under the car. He found the issue, which had nothing to do with muffler repairs and fixed it there and then - AND at no charge. As a woman I look for mechanics whom I can trust, can afford and treat me and my car with respect. The guys at the Muffler Man in Prahran tick all those boxes. And they know what they are doing.   i should have read the reviews before going here, the negative reviews are correct this guy try to suck every penny he can out of you and wastes your time doing it, in my case my muffler developed a hole in it, only went there as was nearby , tries to sell me some second hand muffler for $370, saying its a original part, that may true however as my car quite old , i asked him to fit a cheap import...quotes $250,i say fine, still expensive but i need the car. he rings me up saying the cars ready with fitted $370 muffler on, i say no. then he says will put my old muffler back on my car that he's reconditioned (welded the hole back up) and has in his stock back on for $275, by now I've got few choices haven't i ..
  and doubt he even has the so called cheap chinese made import, as he called it in stock.
  So basically i purchased my old muffler back off him for $275.
  the negative reviews here all say more or less the same thing, positive reviews sound deceptive, Im telling everyone who cares to listen
